CNBC’s America’s best states to do business in ranking. “Texas ranks as 5th easiest state to do business overall, but it is way out in front of other large states. It is easy to see why so many domestic and international companies are relocating to Texas. It is also interesting to note that new business applications have actually decreased 4% this year in the comparison to the same timeframe in 2021. But the South saw almost half of all new business applications, massively outperforming all other regions (Northeast: 63k, Midwest: 70k, South: 198k, West: 94k).
