Sian is the Global Manager for Strategy & Planning for the HR function in Exxon Mobil Corporation. She received her combined honors Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) in Law & French from Birmingham University, UK and the University of Limoges, France in 1995. After spending a year traveling, Sian began her career at Fawley Refinery in the UK in 1996 as a Recruitment Advisor. Since that time, she has held many positions in HR for ExxonMobil, including assignments in the UK, Hungary, Virginia and Texas.
During her tenure with ExxonMobil, Sian has supported most areas of the business and has held numerous leadership positions including Recruitment Manager, HR Manager, Budapest, HR Manager Leatherhead, HR Manager North Sea Cluster (all ExxonMobil businesses in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden), Global HR Manager for Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties, Global Compensation & Benefits Design Managerand most recently her current role in Strategy & Planning where she supports the Corporation’s HR Leadership Team and plays a lead role in many strategic initiatives across the Corporation.
Sian and her husband Jan are permanent US residents and have lived in Houston since 2015. They have two sons who attend the Awty International school: Christian (17) and Lukas (14). They also have two mutts, Molly & Toby, and are dangerously close to getting a puppy. Outside her work in ExxonMobil, until recently Sian was the leader of the Compensation & Leadership Committee as part of her role as a member of the Board of Citizens for Animal Protection, a role she held for 4 years until stepping down at the end of 2021.
