Kay is from East Sussex in the South of England. She graduated from the University of Surrey with a double honors in French and Economics and started work as a Technical Translator at Electricité de France in Paris. Since then, she has worked for several organizations worldwide, as a Translator at Veolia Water in Singapore, Lecturer in Modern Languages and Translation at Western University in Azerbaijan, Bilingual Legal PA at Jones Day in Paris and Events Coordinator and subsequently Placement Manager at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen for 5 years. Following her move to Houston in 2013, Kay continued to work for Robert Gordon University as a Consultant.
Kay became Executive Director of the British American Foundation of Texas in 2016, managing fundraising and scholarship programs across Texas and in the UK.
Kay also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics at University of Houston.
