Strengthening Our Leadership Structure at BABC Texas

At BABC Texas, we’re committed to building a connected, forward-looking community that helps businesses on both sides of the Atlantic thrive. To support this mission, we’ve refreshed our governance structure to create more opportunities for member involvement and strategic alignment.

We’re pleased to introduce the new Non-Executive Board — a team that will work alongside our Executive Board to guide BABC Texas as we continue to grow and evolve.

Each Non-Executive Board Member is assigned to one of our strategic committees and meets monthly to share insights, explore new ideas, and help ensure that BABC Texas reflects the needs and opportunities of our community.

We’re delighted to welcome our first confirmed Non-Executive Board Members:

Sharon Michaels – Attorney.

Sharon is an experienced attorney specializing in estate planning, trusts, and probate. In addition to her legal practice, she serves as an adjunct faculty guest writer and lecturer for the National Business Institute (NBI), where she develops accredited continuing legal education materials and presents live programs to attorneys across the U.S.

A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Sharon remains closely involved with the university’s Alumni Relations and Development team, helping to support student recruitment and alumni engagement in Texas.

Sharon brings both her legal insight and strategic experience to the BABC Texas Strategy & Governance Committee, contributing to the organization’s continued growth and member engagement.

Jordan Minjoot – Assistant Vice President, Commercial Banker at b1 BANK based in Houston, TX.

“I focus on helping small to medium sized businesses with their commercial banking needs across all industries, specializing in conventional loans, SBA financing, and full suite of deposit products.

Originally from Warrington, England, I moved over to the U.S. to attend college and received my BBA in Finance with an emphasis in Accounting at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB). I was a member of the Men’s Tennis team for all 4 years, and captain in my Senior year. I was also a dual-sport athlete in my Junior year competing for both the Tennis team and the Soccer team.

I am really pleased to join the non-executive board for the BABC. I have enjoyed my time as a member with the organization, meeting so many great people and businesses. This is an amazing opportunity to learn about how things operate behind the scenes, and I’m excited to help wherever I can.

My focus will be primarily working on the events committee which has already been eye-opening to begin to understand everything that makes the BABC schedule run as smoothly as always”.

Andrew Ramsay – Founder & CEO, JAB Recruitment | Co-Founder, Moblyze | Entrepreneur | Advisor

Andrew Ramsay is an international entrepreneur and founder of JAB Recruitment, a leading global staffing company for the energy industry. Starting JAB while studying for his postgraduate diploma in Dundee, Scotland — with no prior business or recruitment background — he built it into a multimillion-dollar enterprise employing over 50 staff and managing hundreds of contractors worldwide.

Having lived and launched businesses in Norway, Canada, and the USA, Andrew brings hands-on experience of building from the ground up across multiple jurisdictions. He’s also the Co-Founder of Moblyze, a first-of-its-kind talent marketplace for the energy sector, backed by support from the Scottish Government.

Beyond business, Andrew founded Industry Spotlight, a non-profit helping high school students explore energy and industrial careers. He’s a founding member of the Alberta Scottish Business Association, a supporter of Scottish Development International, and serves on the Houston Advisory Board of the Saltire Foundation — all while continuing to champion Scottish entrepreneurship abroad.

Sharon, Jordan and Andrew’s expertise and enthusiasm will help drive meaningful initiatives across our core focus areas – from member engagement to event strategy to trade collaboration between the UK and Texas.

If you’re a BABC Texas member interested in getting more involved, whether by joining a committee, contributing your expertise, or supporting our initiatives, we’d love to hear from you!
