MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: McCullough Sudan PLLC

This March we highlight Doug McCullough, Partner at McCullough Sudan. Interested in meeting Doug or any of our members? Email us at info@babctexas.org for an intro.

1. Describe your company and its relationship to the UK.

McCullough Sudan is a boutique law firm that focuses on domestic and international business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and tax law. Our attorneys have decades of experience representing companies based in or doing business in the United Kingdom and Europe. We hope that membership in the BABC will allow us to expand our transatlantic focus.

2. What’s been your biggest success at work, either personally or as a company/organization?

I find the most satisfaction working through technical legal issues and thorny deal points while helping clients manage their expectations and emotions. I thrive when I am simultaneously dealing with technical complexity and the human emotions of big decisions like selling a company, entering a new market through a joint venture, or heading off foreseeable legal complications.

3. What does the BABC provide to you that you can’t find anywhere else?

Other organizations offer an academic view of global events. But, I joined BABC for its high quality programs where I can learn about trends affecting transatlantic business, and meet others who are engaged in international business, trade and investment.

4. What’s the largest thing you want to accomplish in 2020, and how can the BABC or its member companies help?

Beyond growing McCullough Sudan’s international reputation, I plan to do more writing and public speaking on trade, law and public policy.  I am excited to work with other BABC members to advance trade, and to mutually share insights about trends and know-how in international business.

5. Personally, what’s your favorite UK export?

There are so many fine products to choose from, but if pressed I’d say Talisker.
