On 10 September, BritishAmerican Business and Bain & Company brought together senior business leaders and policymakers in London for the launch of the 6th Annual Transatlantic Confidence Index — an in-depth look at how businesses on both sides of the Atlantic are feeling about the state, and the future, of the UK-US relationship.
Hosted by J.P. Morgan, the event featured a presentation of this year’s findings by Jonathan Frick, Partner at Bain & Company, followed by responses and discussion from a distinguished panel of government and industry voices. Ceri Smith, Director General of the UK’s Office for Investment, and Bradley McKinney, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Commercial Service & Global Markets at the U.S. Department of Commerce, offered their perspectives on what the results mean for policy and investment on both sides of the corridor.
The conversation was rounded out by a panel of leading voices in transatlantic business and policy: Kevin McKeever, Founder & CEO of Lowick Hedry; Charles Myers, Chairman & Founder of Signum Global Advisors; and Shanker Singham, CEO of Competere. Emanuel Adam, Chief Trade & Policy Officer at BritishAmerican Business, moderated the discussion.
This year’s report, A Fragile Rebound for US-UK Confidence, points to a partnership at a pivotal moment — confidence showing signs of recovery, but with real questions remaining about competitiveness and investment conditions ahead. It’s essential reading for anyone doing business across the Atlantic.
